Games, giggles and great discoveries are a part of Creative Corner’s daily program. Each teacher provides opportunities that encompass the interest, age and skill of the children to make every day a happy learning adventure.
These rooms are designed to provide a warm and cozy environment for their six (6) children with two teachers. The Infant room has a quiet napping alcove of clouds and lots of floor and tummy time activities areas. The Toddler room adds child size kitchen set and classroom toys for our beginning walkers to continue to explore and learn. Both rooms are set up to provide places for teacher one on one activities, large indoor toy placment for gross motor activities to help our newest little friends' mucles grow.
This program was developed to provide the best environment for our little ones to start their learning experience. Daily, the teacher will do different activities that encourage and strengthen your little ones growing skills:
*learning spoken language with songs, finger plays and books (language growth)
*beginning friendships (social skills)
*learning about new topics (vocabulary building)
*exploring art and movement (fine and large motor skills)
*exercise and playtime games focused on muscle development (motor skills and fitness)
*growth of ones self awareness
*Our Infant room only accomadates 3 babies under 12 months of age & 3 over 12 months.
* Our Toddler room can accomade walking toddlers only.
This room is designed to provide a place for its ten (10) active children to explore and gain school experiences. The focus of this group is introduction to beginning academics.
Focuses at this age are:
*Friendships that respect and help one another (social skills)
*relationship of verbal and written words (vocabulary building)
*number values (math skills)
*writing / drawing (fine motor skills)
*name recognition (self awareness & alphabet recognition).
*Basic academics (math, science, writing, & phonics) through games, activities and journals.
*Theme kits & work adds excitement to the day through games, art and musical activities.
Children’s minds are stimulated by imaginative themes that incorporate academics through games, projects, and classroom fun.Enhancement Activities: Our children will enjoy field trips to local parks and attractions; museums, arboretums, wildlife locales, farms, library programs, and businesses. Community activities such as ice skating, swimming and theatrical experiences will be offered.
Playground Activities: Our children will be able to explore our unique playground and be involved in cooperative games that promote teamwork and friendships.
Rainy Day Surprises: Our children will enjoy many activities- parachute play, magic maze, tumbling and surprises from the Rainy Day cabinet.
Language Arts: As a central part of our entire curriculum, language skills are presented as a natural part of all our activities. Our children enjoy stories, flannel-board activities, finger plays, songs, dramatics, and writing stories (dictated to the teacher).
Two's Classroom
This room is designed to provide a cozy, yet comfortable environment for its ten (10) children with two teachers. We keep our class size below the State ratio of 1 :6 for age two to provide more attention to each or our little friends. The focus at this age is learning to be part of group activities while continuing to provide new concepts and experiences for their growing minds.
*Circle time and class projects introduce a school setting.
*Play areas in the room encourage small groups to play together (social skills).
*This room is equipped with a child size toilet to help in the comfort of potty training, a major accomplishment for this age!
*Learning Theme kits filled with lots of topical hands items are used to expand the child’s world are introduced at this age (vocabulary building),
*explore art / movement projects (fine and large motor skills),
*promote positive self growth.
Four's Classroom
This room is designed for its ten (10) children to explore, create and accomplish goals. This class helps the children become prepared for the Elementary School experience.
Focuses at this age are:
*Cooperation with individuals in class room activities (social skills),
*Reading and Math foundations (math, writing, & phonics) through games, activities and journals
*Science experiments and activities (logic and reasoning skills)
*Art and movement activities become a process of creativity (self expression)
*Introduction of new topics that develop thoughts and reasoning (vocabulary & logic)
*Art / movement activities become a process of creativity (self expression)
New themes and topics teach children that they are part of a bigger world through art, activities, games, and field trips.
